Countries: Pan African

Location: Tottenham Court Road
If you want a good workout but are a bit bored of regular aerobics classes then Dance Afreaka is for you! It takes place every Wednesday in Fitness First just off Tottenham Court Road and every Friday in Fitness First Brixton.
The classes uses African dance techniques to help improve your fitness. I am generally quite unfit and this was really a good workout! The instructor made all the moves look so easy, but some of them involved a bit of thinking just to work out what muscles I needed to use to even do the moves!

Taro Noodle and Sushi Bar
Country: Japan
Cost: 6 - 12 for a main course
Location: Soho
There are two Taro's in Soho, I went to the one on Brewer Street, the other is on Old Compton Street.
We arrived quite early for a pre theatre dinner and by the time we were ready to leave there were people queuing for a table. My advice is either go around 6.30pm or book ahead if you are planning to go on the weekend.
The food was really tasty.

Country: India
Cost: varies
Location : Aldgate East
No doubt Brick Lane is not the best place to in London to get an authentic curry but it's a good night out strolling down the street as the guys on the doors try to entice you into their restaurant with special offers.
There's also the Big Chill part of the way along the street and I'm sure plenty of other places to go out to afterwards.

Bouvelard Brasserie
Country: France
Cost: £10 to £14 for a main, though they have a pre and post theatre menu during the week
Location: Covent Garden
A perfect location to catch up with my friend Sian, since we first met in the gastronomic capital of France (Lyon) nearly 5 years ago. Sian has a taste card so we got 50 % off the bill. The food was delicious: I had venison and gratin dauphinois, Sian has tartiflette and we both had creme brule for dessert. Mmmmm.
