World Poems on the Undergeround

Good old TFL! In one go, you've helped me to visit 3 countries that I've never been to in London before.

According to the little guide 'each poet contributes something unique and personal to the story of their lives and also of ours.'

Keep your eyes peeled for poems from 44 countries on underground trains across London.

Also represented are: Afghanistan, Aruba, Australia, Austria, Barbados, Canada, Chile, China, Czech Republic, Finland, France, Germany, Ghana, Greece, Guyana, Hungary, India, Iraq, Ireland, Italy, Jamaica, Japan, Nigeria, Turkey, USA

Viva Italia

1920s party? No problem  1920's Italy party? Step this way!

Italian liqueur inspired cocktails.  The mantenuta was loooovely!

Kokoro The Art of Horiyoshi III

This exhibition will be showing at Somerset House until 1st July 2012.  Kokoro can be translated as 'the heart of things' in English.  Horiyoshi III is a Japanese tattoo artist who used traditional Japanese tattooing techniques to create works of art on human bodies.

Albanian record store

Does the Albanian record store sell just Albanian music?
Or other types of music?
Does it even sell music at all?
Is it ever open?

Harringay is a long way to go only to return with no answers.

Zimbabwe House

The Embassy of Zimbabwe has a small tourist information centre attached to it where (I assume) you can find more information about things to do as a tourist in Zimbabwe.  Let me know if I'm wrong though.

Serbian Community Centre

The Serbian Community Centre and Serbian church are at Ladbroke Grove. There is also a small cafe/restaurant inside but it was closed when I tried to go there for lunch on one Friday early afternoon.  I'll have to add it to my list of places to return to.

The San Marino Facebook song

Another year, another Eurovision preview party...

At the Shadow Lounge again, but this time, the prices have gone up quite a lot.  Mind you we did get to see a lot of artists for our money and could have stayed until 3am if the event hadn't taken place on a work night.  It was a night of surprises - handkerchiefs as gifts from the daughter of the President of Azerbaijan for the singers, the San Marino Facebook song, the parents of the Portuguese entrant on their first ever trip in a plane and a journalist from BBC Azeri!

Omar Naber who represented Slovenia back in 2005

It was Anguun's birthday so the organisers bought a big cake for her.

Gesamtkunstwerk: New Art from Germany

I want to be a German artist too!  Some of my favourite pieces from the recent exhibition at the Saatchi Gallery.

 Ahnenbild by André Butzer

Untitled by André Butzer. This painting reminded me a bit of the work by Aboudia Abdoulaye Diarrassoub that I saw at the Jack Bell Gallery last year,

Kinder Filmen 1 - Isa Genzhen

 Untitled by Georg Herold

 Untitled by Thomas Kiesewetter

Panka Peruvian food

There are a range of stalls near the Saatchi gallery where you can refuel after a morning looking at art.  This one sells food from Peru and is run by a Peruvian couple living in London.
