Time and Vision

Time and Vision was an art exhibition drawing together work from Australian artists and was hosted by my favourite arts venue in London The Bargehouse, down by the Oxo Tower.

Works ranging from sculpture, film and photography by the following Australian artists were on display over the three upper floors of the building:

Daniel Crooks
Nicole Ellis
Patrick Kartigan
Paul Knight
Jaki Middleton & David Lawrey
Vanilla Netto
Lyndall Phelps
Tom Pop
Helen Pynor
Erica Seccombe
Sally Smart
Renee So
Kathy Temin
Michelle Ussher
Daniel Von Sturmer

 Untitled, 2012 by Paul Knight

This was an installation by the artists Jaki Middleton & David Lawrey.  It made me smile so much.  The installation only starts up once you've entered the room.  For a split second I was stood in the dark and I wasn't sure what I was looking at.  And suddenly there was dancing, flashing lights and Michael Jackson music and once I'd recovered from the shock I was a very happy person!  In fact, I found it so funny, I took my friend Lizzy back there the next day, just to watch her reaction to it.

Italian shops in Central London

I keep seeming to spot places that sell Italian products these days.

H T Harris in Fitzrovia has an area where you can eat-in.

This pricey delicatessan in Soho is beautifully presented.

Polish Deli Dalston

I spotted a rather up-market looking Polish shop whilst on my way to an art gallery a few weeks ago.  Mind you it is in Dalston, so it's bound to be cooler than the average Polish shop in London.

Adanami Shobo

Adanami Shobo is a little shop on Brewer Street in Soho that sells second-hand Japanese manga books.

The Irish Shop

If you happen to live in East Dulwich and have a craving for Barry's Tea or a range of other products from Ireland then The Irish Shop is the place to go for you.

Nudity and coffee

I love London.  If you say:

"I would like to go to a sauna (none of these British, wear your trunks kind of saunas though).  Did I mention I want it to be in  a church?  Oh and I'd like some tasty Finnish snacks too please."

Then London will say:

"Step right this way!"

And if you don't believe me: here is the link: www.finnishchurch.org.uk/e_sauna.html

All in all a very relaxing evening.
