Contested Terrains
The final artist in the series is Sammy Baloji from the Democratic Republic of Congo. His photo series Mémoire superimposes old photographs of European mine owners and Congolese workers onto scenes of how the mines look today - many sites in ruins due to the decline in fortunes of the mining company.
