The Other Side of Paradise

The Other Side of Paradise at the October Gallery is an exhibition by Palestinian artist Laila Shawa in response to a documentary she saw about a female suicide bomber who was caught at a checkpoint.

 Laila Shawa makes clear in the exhibtion that she is not condoning the actions of the suicide bomber and does not want to come down on one side or the other of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.
